Now hiring in Portland, Los Angeles, and NY

Engineering @ SPLT - Impact, Access, Opportunity, Challenge

We are looking for ambitious entrepreneurial minded engineers to join our team.

Impact

SPLT is an enterprise ridesharing platform. We are impacting the world in a big way on these fronts:

  • Reducing pollution
  • Reducing commute times for hundreds, (soon to be thousands, and then millions?) of users
  • Reducing the requirement for ugly parking structures
  • Saving employees and employers money spent getting to and from work
  • Connecting employees

Your work will have a direct and immediate impact on our users. We expect hires to be writing production code features or bug fixes the first week of hire.

Access

You'll have direct access to founders Anya and Yale. You'll report to Chief Technology Officer, and member of the executive team David Smith.

All three are experienced entrepreneurs who you'll be able to learn from.

You'll have the opportunity to interact with executives from some of the biggest companies on the planet.

You'll be part of the Techstars network, and SPLT is a VC funded company. You'll get some exposure to investors and other rockstar entrepreneurs.

We are a Startup

Yes we are a startup. If that makes you nervous - this probably isn't the job for you. If you listen to startups, work on side projects, and know what pitch competitions are - read on my friend...

No we are not like many startups that want you to work for free because they have no money, no customers, no investors. We have all of those and are entering growth mode.

We are launching 1-2 clients per month and onboarding thousands of users this year.

I'm not going to lie - it's no bed of roses, we've got deadlines, lots of opportunity, not enough resources, customers to support, features to ship, bugs to squash, etc. so if you are looking to kick back - SPLT isn't for you.

Read on if you want:

  • To learn a ton
  • A challenge
  • To ship code
  • To talk with customers
  • To do the best work of your life

What to Expect

Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly:

  • Code you write will impact tens of thousands of users improving their health and happiness.
  • Collaborate with smart engineers onsite 4 days a week and work from home Wednesdays.
  • We have no business analysts - so we need to do it.
  • We are the QA department - so we are automating it.
  • Almost no bureaucracy - you'll get power and responsibility.
  • Working in a significantly de-risked startup (customers, investment, sales pipeline, etc.)
  • You need to be a problem solver - not someone who puts their hand up and can't work until they get help.
  • Many technical and process problems are still unsolved or evolving - we want your help solving and fixing.
  • You'll get to work with cool technologies your friends will be jealous of (like Lyft's private API) and this year we are likely to announce an exciting partnership with one of the largest tech companies in the world.
  • We are an agile team with 2 week sprints and daily stand ups.
  • We are a collaborative team with everyone in the office MTHF and working from home Wednesdays.
  • There is a lot of opportunity - the challenge is in deciding what not to do.

If a challenging, exciting, fast-moving environment sounds like a good time to you - read on my friend.
